CALIFORNIA SUPERBIKE SCHOOL UPDATE

With only a week and a half until the next two California Superbike Schools at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park we still have places available on both days in all levels. There is no time like the present to either get started on, or to continue on your cornering education.

The next available dates are:

  • Thursday 30th September
  • Friday 1st October

The Superbike School is not about racing, although we train a lot of racers, it is not about the bike you ride as we train people on all types of bikes and it is not about new riders as we train people at all levels of experience. The California Superbike School has a bulletproof, step by step method for training riders in the exact skills of cornering motorcycles and we’ve become recognized worldwide, on four continents, because our system of training works and riders benefit from it. Each of our many riding discoveries over the past three decades cleanly and effectively shatters the targeted barrier or the uncertainty riders experience in their cornering. The Superbike School’s program has matured and become integrated based on the experiences of real riders and their countless successes at overcoming their uncertainties, replacing them with skill and the real rush they’ve always wanted.

If you have already attended one or even all four levels of our cornering education, now is the time to continue or top up your skills. If you are yet to experience the phenomenon that is the California Superbike School then there is no time like the present to get started on a journey that will make your journeys more pleasant and safer to boot.

For more information or to book your place go to www.californiasuperbikeschool.co.nz or phone (09)412 6266.

Enjoy the ride.

CALIFORNIA SUPERBIKE SCHOOL UPDATE

By Darren Sweetman.

Spring is here, and with it, the California Superbike School returns to Hampton Downs Motorsport Park for another season of rider training. Please don’t be fooled by the name: you do not need to ride a superbike to attend the school. No matter what you ride and what level your riding is currently at, the school will work for you. So if you are thinking about improving your cornering skills, what better way than to attend the world’s best riding school?  Any school that has been around for 30 years, coached over 160,000 students globally, and trained everybody from commuters to Grand Prix World Champions, must be doing something right - the California Superbike School is such an organisation.

The next available dates for the school are:

  • Thursday September 30th (all Levels)
  • Friday October 1st (all Levels)
  • Thursday November 25th (all Levels)
  • Friday November 26th (all Levels)

There are still places available in all levels, but these dates will be sold out.  For more information or to book your place, go to www.californiasuperbikeschool.co.nz to avoid disappointment.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Daniel Mettam. Daniel is a young racer who attended the school last summer.  Since then his results have improved dramatically, and as a result, Daniel is off to Spain next week to try out for the Red Bull Rookies cup. This series is one of the feeders for the World Grand Prix 125 series, so our best wishes go out to Daniel.

See you all in the classroom.
Enjoy the ride.
Darren.

HAMPTON DOWNS RIDE DAY – JULY 10TH

By Ollie S

The California Superbike School couldn’t have asked for better weather conditions on Saturday 10th July for their long awaited re-opening of their Hamptons Downs Ride Days. Despite the mercury slowing rising from a very frosty 3deg in the morning to a slightly more manageable 14deg in the afternoon there was huge turnout of riders from learners to pro’s mixing and mingling with unabated smiles.

The option to ride with other track warriors of similar skill and speed is a hugely popular draw card to the Hampton Downs Ride Days. Not only does it bring out learners and first timers but also pools a magnificent number of reconditioned classic road bikes. Focusing on track only experience, Darren Sweetman and his Californian Superbike School team enforce the track sessions are for track time only and any hint of racing, lap timing or inconsiderate riding is strongly governed.

KR was there testing several Hyosung’s and a new Yamaha R6, with BikeMart man Todd S also nabbing a ride on Sloan “Choppa” Frosts sensationally trick BMW 1000RR. We had Geoff Osborne firing off some frames for an up and coming test/feature, so look out for some cheeky offside images making it to the Kiwi Rider blog and Facebook pages soon.

If you attended the July 10th Hampton Downs Ride Day and looking for your own riding images don’t forget to head over to Andrew Bright’s Championship Digital webpage to view his magnificent work. Andrew attempted to cover all riders so if your picture comes up on his page jump in and have that knee scrub hanging on your office wall, no doubt the images will be tack sharp. The day was absolutely magnificent and the best money can buy on a world-class track.

The next Hampton Downs Ride Day is scheduled for Friday, August 13th. For more information and to guarantee a spot on the tarmac head over to www.hamptondownsridedays.co.nz and book a spot now. Hampton Downs Ride Days are operated by the California Superbike School and are independent of their training courses, although Darren and his friendly team are more than happy to offer advice. If your keen to learn the art of cornering or simply improve your tecniue and riding experience any one of the up and coming California Superbike Schools come highly recommended by Kiwi Rider Magazine. For more information or the California Superbike School course head over to www.californiasuperbikeschool.co.nz
