DUNGEY WRAPS UP AT PALA

'Enjoying the championship.'
Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey won both motos and the overall at the final race of the 2010 AMA Pro Motocross series at Pala Raceway in Southern California.

Dungey won 10 overalls this year - nine in a row - with 19 moto wins. That, along with his 2010 AMA Supercross Championship title, makes him the most successful Rookie ever.

Said Dungey: "My team and this group of people have taught me well. I'm fortunate to work with so many great people and now that the season is over, we'll enjoy the Championship and then put our heads down and be tough in preparing for Supercross in January."

Dungey started the day with victory in Moto 1 in which he took over the lead by the third lap and then steadily put time between him and the rest of the field, crossing the line 28 seconds ahead of second place. When the gate dropped on the second moto, he didn't get as-smooth-a start as he would've liked, but he methodically picked off riders and by the midway point of the moto he took over the lead.

"I'm happy I went 1-1 on the day, and I enjoyed the Pala track," Dungey said after the race. "It was tough out there and it took a lot of physical and mental fitness. I prepare for tracks like this, so having a rough race shows the hard work we all put in during the week."

SC U-13 CHAMPS REVAMPED

ALL NEW EVENT FOR 2010.
FOR ALL - MINI's, JUNIORS and PARENTS who want to ride !!

That's right, the South Canterbury Under 13 Champs have undergone a bit of a re-vamp this year, with an 'All New Track', 'New Classes' and an extended event catering to ALL Mini riders, Junior riders and their parents.

  • When : 25th and 26th of September.
  • Where : South Canterbury Motorcycle Club - Club Track (New Track)
  • Where : McKnights Property, Chisholm Road, Pleasant Point

This year we will be holding a full Mini and Junior event (including the 14 - 16 year olds), rather than just an Under 13 format.

In ADDITION we have added a little bit of a twist by providing a class for Parents/Guardians to ride and the ability to accumulate points as a 'Family'.

Kids can ride as individuals as there are separate classes and trophies for each Mini / Junior class as usual, so don't worry if your 'Olds' don't ride.

However if you have a Parent / Guardian (or both) riding at the event then they will also accumulate points as part of the 'Family' team. Points collected by the family are divided by the number of riders in the team and a winning family selected for overall "Bragging Rights" as the fastest family in the South.

So...Jump to it.

Get your entries filled in and back to us ASAP.

Work now immediately begins to prepare the team for the 2011 racing season in all of the major US competitions.

The signing of DeCoster represents a major step forward in vaulting the Austrian company into the global arena. KTM has already reached the top level of the sport in Europe and the World Championship GP series and will now also be a dominant force in US competition.

TRIUMPH'S WSS REPORT

WSS '10 Round 11 | Nurburgring, race day

Chaz Davies and David Salom of the  ParkinGO Triumph BE1 Racing team finished sixth and seventh respectively in Germany today, after exchanging positions until the very last lap.
On the other hand, both Matthieu Lagrive and Vittorio Iannuzzo retired from the race, the former after a crash, the latter due to a mechanical issue.
The "Four Musketeers" will return to the track in three weeks time for the penultimate round of the season held at Imola, where the goal will be to battle for the podium again.
CHAZ DAVIES | Triumph Daytona 675 | 5th : " We had less problems than we had yesterday, but I didn't have any grip on the back end for the whole nineteen laps. I made a good start and got in the leading pack right away. After battling with the Kawasakis, I had to take it up a notch. My teammate Salom, Roccoli and Pirro all caught up with me. We had a nice duel for several laps, but in the end I finished in front of the group".

DAVID SALOM | Triumph Daytona 675 | 6th : "I had the same issues as my teammates. Unfortunately, this track is not the best one for our bike. I didn't get a very good start and so I lost many positions, but recovered a few eventually. Too bad it turned out this way, I was really hoping for a better result, especially after Friday's practice".

MATTHIEU LAGRIVE  | Triumph Daytona 675 | 16th : "I made a very good start, but I crashed after just a few laps, unfortunately. Too bad, I could've finished in front".

VITTORIO IANNUZZO | Triumph Daytona 675 | 17th : "I'm disappointed for how this weekend turned out, I was feeling ready to aim higher. Unfortunately, we didn't find the right setup so that myself and my teammates could perform at our best. I hope to redeem myself in front of the home crowd at Imola”.
